A message from President
NE지역 한국학교/한글학교 교장 선생님과 교사 여러분께,
세계 여러 나라에서 코로라 19 바이러스 창궐로 많은 사람들이 고통을 당하고 고귀한 생명을 잃고 있습니다.
다행히 메사추세츠주는 확진자가 1명에 그치고 있고 그나마 공항에서 격리되었지만 앞으로도 어떤 경로로 바이러스가 우리에게 위해가 될지 모르는 상황입니다. 더우기 2월 20일 이후부터 한국에서의 코로나19 확진자 숫자가 무서운 속도로 늘고 있다는 뉴스를 접하며 걱정과 염려가 큽니다.
각 학교에 권고하고자 하는 것은,
금번 방학 기간을 이용해 코로라바이러스 확진자가 발견된 지역을 여행 또는 방문하고 돌아온 가정이 있는 경우 코로라19 바이러스의 잠복기간인 14일 동안은 가급적 외출을 삼가하고 집에서 최대한 건강상태를 점검하는 기간을 가진 후에 등교해 주시도록 각 가정에 권고해 주시기 바랍니다.
또한, 코로라 19도 큰 문제이나 독감이 창궐하는 기간이오니 아직 독감주사를 맞지 않은 경우 의료기관 또는 인근의 플루백신 주사를 맞을 수 있는 곳에서 서둘러 주사를 맞도록 권고드립니다.

Dear Principals & teachers of Korean Schools of NE-Chapter:
NAKS-New England Chapter is actively monitoring information related to the Corona 19. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) reports the risk of this disease in the United States to be low at this time, and there is one known case of the virus in Massachusetts. We also monitor communications from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts public health officials, and will continue to follow their guidance.
The incubation period for the Coronavirus is two weeks. Students, teachers who have travelled to or from China, Korea more than two weeks ago and are not ill have no cause for concern. So, who aren’t more than this period, recommends to stay in your home.
Also, we are in the midst of the flu virus season and each school staffs routinely disinfect touch-points - such as switch panels, faucets, doorknobs and handrails - throughout the school. Similarly, the Coronavirus is effectively treated with standard cleaning products.
We encourage students and all members of the NAKS-New England Chapter to continue to take the standard, recommended precautions to prevent the spread of flu-like illness:
- Wash hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
- Frequently clean touch surfaces, including cell phones, laptops, and keyboards.
- Avoid sharing drinks, food utensils, containers, and other personal items.
- Students registering a fever or vomiting should stay home until conditions no longer persist for at least 24 hours.
In addition, it is not too late to receive this year's flu vaccine.
